Guess Who's Five?!

Brynn had a birthday last week, and is now officially 5! She has been counting down the days, and has been saying she's 4 and 1/2 for at least 9 months, so I guess it's about time!

We had a wonderful, low-key birthday! First, she got up and opened a few presents.

Brynn is in this major purple kick, so everybody in the family wore purple for her, even her dad. She got to have purple pancakes
and then went to preschool and shared purple cupcakes with her friends. We just played the rest of the day, her best friend Sophie came over and they played at the park forever. That night she got her requested birthday meal - hotdogs - yum!

Then we celebrated some more, having her grandparents and some aunts, uncles and cousins come over for cake and ice cream. (Purple, of course!)

Here are a few fun facts about Brynn:

*When she was born, Kirk almost missed it. I was induced, so we'd been hanging out at the hospital all night long. Nothing was going anywhere. First thing in the morning, Kirk went to get some breakfast. Right after, my doctor came by and broke my water. By the time that he decided between a bagel and a donut, and came waltzing back, the nurses were getting ready to run and find him.

*Brynn was the happiest baby! My first three were not so much, so imagine my delight when Brynn would just happily hang out in her car seat, wherever we were. We swam a bunch that first summer, and she just sat and sweat happily in her car seat in the shade. What a sweetie!

*She loves to have a friend around. If it's not her bestie, Sophie, then I get followed, everywhere, and get talked into playing Polly Pocket, or Littlest PetShop a lot.

*She loves loves loves dogs. She has no fear of going up to a strange, big dog and asking the owner if she can pet it. It's made me nervous quite a few times.

*She's super smart. (I know, I'm her mom, so of course I'm going to say this - but she is!) She can figure out any melody on the piano, she's starting to read, she loves to count up high, she can spot a slugbug in a whole slew of cars, she's amazing!

*She's definitely the baby of our family, and plays the role well. She's a snugly girl, and if you're sitting, she'll make her way up to your lap without you even knowing it. She loves to make her sisters laugh, and loves to get their approval on something funny she made up. She is just a sweet, sweet girl!
