Eight is GREAT!

Lizzie had a birthday and is now officially an EIGHT year old! She is a great girl and we love her and all that she brings to our family! She woke up bright and early to open her presents.

She of course got scriptures and a new scripture bag, along with tons of other fun summery presents.

She chose to have crepes for breakfast with whipped cream and strawberries (but actually just strawberry sauce, not actual strawberries on hers).

That night she got to have a birthday party! She got to choose what type of party and where it was. She was given no limits, since it was her special 8th birthday. So... she chose to party at Peter Piper Pizza! (I was thinking we must be pretty lame/white trash, that Peter Piper is the coolest it gets.)

She had Keely, Kennedy and Gracie come with her.

Then two Saturdays ago, she got baptized as a member of our church by her dad! It was such a special day! She was excited and nervous, and you could feel the Spirit so strong. I was crying mess the whole time - but blame that on the fact that I got home from girls camp at 2:30AM the night before.

She was super lucky that her cousin Kruze has a birthday one week after her and is in our stake, so they got to be baptized together!

She was so happy to get the gift of the Holy Ghost. She has said she can feel Him helping and directing her already. She was so happy all day after her baptism and says she wants to stay clean and pure always.

We had tons of family come to be supportive. After the baptism we had a party at Kent and Hannah's house, with tons of kids, food and fun!

Here's eight special things about Lizzie:

1. She is passionate! She loves fiercely and you better not mess with someone she loves.

2. She is very tender. I love to snuggle her and help her be happy.

3. She is very creative. She loves to make up stories and plays, and can play quietly by herself for hours a day.

4. She has the nicest handwriting in town! She tries really hard to be the best student she can be!

5. Her pinky finger on both hands is totally crooked. She is maybe a little self conscious about it. I've told her it makes her unique and special.

6. She has many good friends. She is everyone's friend and is willing to give everybody the benefit of the doubt, and is often friends with those that need a friend.

7. One of her bestest friends is Brynn. They share a room and have two twin beds, but most nights I find them snuggled together in one bed.

8. She loves to be clean and will sometimes take several showers a day. If she gets a smidge dirty, like a drop of ketchup or syrup in her hair, it's off to the showers, even if it's mid-afternoon. She recently had a lesson at activity day where they learned how much things in the real world cost, so she's been trying to cut down to one shower a day to save us money.

We sure love our Lizzie Lou and are so proud of her and the great girl she is growing up to be!!
