We decided to take advantage of our nice-ish weather and take the girls out to kayak at Saguaro Lake. (This was also our September family activity.) We got up early, even though Marissa and Noelle couldn't believe we were making them get up early on their ONLY day off! *sigh* *eye roll* *huff*
We had planned to go to Butcher Jones marina area, which isn't for motorized boats and has a nice little beach area, but that area was closed due to flooding, I guess because of all the rain we've gotten. So we just found a place in the main marina area and set out our chairs and kayaks on the little bit of shoreline to enjoy our day.
It was a little hard to paddle, since there were some pretty good waves due to the boats coming and going, so the girls had to use their muscles.
They also had fun finding gross stuff to pick up, like dead crawdads, or chasing the squirrel and trying to feed it all our snacks that we brought, or having a water fight with the soaker balls we found at the bottom of our beach bag.
We did have a great time just relaxing and having fun together, which is what it's all about!!
