End of School!

School is out!  No more teachers, no more books, no more teachers dirty looks!

With the end of the school, it seems like it is always an ongoing party! 

Noelle got to have an end of school party/kinda 1/2 birthday party/leaving her school party.  I thought it was just going to be a little " have a few friends over to swim and barbecue" party, but found I was was wrong when she started planning and making decorations two weeks before.  It was a little sad because it was super windy that day, so a lot of her decorations got blown away or weren't able to be put up. 

The girls didn't seem to mind, though. 

They had a great time swimming, playing games, having a water balloon fight, and eating tons of food!  I was kinda amazed at how much these girls could put away!  :)

Guess who else is done with school?!!  Kirk!!!  Kirk just finished his MBA and graduated from Walden University!  I'm so proud of him!  He has worked really hard for this!  He has been going to school for much of our married life and has always put his life and desires on hold or second to the needs of our family.  The last year of his program was pretty intense with huge research papers each week, tests, and tons of group projects too.  He  managed to juggle working full time, being scoutmaster and camping with the scouts once a month, and still managing to be the best dad around. He even graduated with a 4.0 gpa!  Smartie pants!

He did his schooling online through his work at Walden, so the official graduation is in August in Minnesota or somewhere that he didn't want to go.  So, we had a family barbecue to celebrate and his mom put together a little red carpet ceremony and mock graduation for him. 

We had bubbles for the kids to blow as he walked by, but they thought that throwing rice was funner and pelted him as he went by, (that's what he's dodging).

Marissa was also honored at an assembly at  her school as a Golden Scholar, one who has maintained a 3.8 gpa or higher all school year. 

We are so proud of Riss and how she's excelled at her new school.  Next year she got accepted to be in Yearbook, she's going to be doing Unified PE where she helps the special needs kids do PE, and she gets to be in student council as the yearbook representative.  She's such a great girl and we're so proud of her!
