Marissa and Noelle had their annual piano recital. They were so excited to show off all their hard work and play the song they had practiced non-stop for the last two months. Marissa has been playing piano for 4 1/2 years and Noelle has been playing for 3 years.

Noelle played "The First Noel". She was so excited to have a song with her "name" in it, that she practiced incessantly and had the first two pages memorized within the first week. It didn't take her long to learn the whole thing, even though it was a pretty involved song. Pretty soon she played it anywhere she could find a piano: home, grandma's, ward party, looking at temple lights, her birthday party, etc.
She did a fabulous job! I'm super proud of her and her piano accomplishments this year! She has gotten to the point that it's fun for her, and I don't have to help her figure out every note, so it's also funner for me!

Marissa played "Oh, Come All Ye Faithful", a five page long super tricky song, that was even hard for me. She did a great job, sticking with it, even when both hands had chords of three or four notes a piece. Wow! While she was playing it for the recital, one of her pages started to fall down, so her teacher went to try and grab it, but ended up knocking all her pages down in the middle of the song. It kinda frazzled Marissa, but she kept going, and it sounded great!!

Their teacher, Rachelle, gave out a couple awards to some of her students that had really worked hard this year, and Marissa got one for the most improved.

Grandma and Grandpa Jones came to the recital, even though they had heard the songs plenty of times before. What great support!

Way to go girls!!

Absolutely stunning performance in so many ways. These girls are happiness makers! Is your camera an x-ray one like they are using at airports that sees through clothes or do I need to check in the mirror a little better before wearing the pink shirt?
